Vynce are a four-piece indie band from the Wirral. They popped up on the North-West scene in 2014 with a handful of shimmery indie pop songs called Waves EP. It featured the tracks ‘April Showers’, ‘Waves’, ‘Saint Lucia’ and ‘Not My Girlfriend’. Since then, then they’ve been playing gigs across the North and recording a plethora of brilliant live sessions for BBC Introducing. They are one of the most exciting new acts to come out of Merseyside in the last few years.
Their latest single, entitled ‘Lust’, is out now. It shares the same indie pop sound as Waves EP yet comes back with more enthusiasm and purpose. It suggests that Vynce are a band who’ve waited long enough for their break.
I first saw Vynce play live supporting Jaws, alongside Fickle Friends, at the East Village Arts Club in Liverpool in September 2014. Easily one of the most memorable support acts I’ve seen, they put on a great live performance. Frontman Peter Pegasiou, who has dabbled in solo work, was an impressive vocalist. They support Jaws again, along with Sheffield duo Nai Harvest, at the O2 Academy Liverpool on Monday the 30th November. I look forward to seeing how they have evolved, a year down the line.
Tickets are still available for Jaws with Nai Harvest and Vynce at the O2 Academy Liverpool 30/11/15.
