BRIT School graduate Raphi is set to release her debut single in just over a week on the 31st August. The track, titled ‘Lucky Star‘, was produced by Aaron Ferucci and will be the first of four releases in the coming months.
The Cypriot-born, London-raised singer-songwriter has been working hard on her music – which she describes as ‘urban pop’ – for years. Raphi won Capital FM’s ‘Be A Star’ competition and performed alongside Professor Green in front of massive crowds at the Westfield Presents event before studying her trade at the BRIT School. She’s now writing and recording in preparation of an eventual full-length album.
Listen to Raphi’s track ‘Invitation‘ below:
On Lucky Star, Raphi demonstrates impressively flawless vocals and an apparent knack for writing a catchy pop song. There are sprinklings of electronics and hazy synths throughout the well produced track. The single sounds very much part of the new wave of bubbly alternative pop played by other new British artists such as duo Cherryade.
This is a superb debut single which makes me excited to hear what Raphi has to offer on the promised additional releases on the way.
