Twelve months after my last post about Tindrumm releasing their debut single, the Manchester band are now releasing their debut LP. ‘Hardly Art‘ is set for release on Wednesday 13th September by indie label Trinitus Sounds.
The album was put together in Salford’s Blueprint Studios within a fortnight with the help of engineer Gary Hadfield – who has worked with the likes of Stereophonics and Elbow. Impressive. Not to mention that it was also mastered by Grammy winner Mandy Parnell who has worked alongside Aphex Twin, Bjork and Sigur Ros.
Tindrumm‘s music has been described as ‘ferocious art rock‘ despite the forthcoming album’s title. The four-piece are always experimenting with new sounds and this LP should be something special.
The first single to come out of Hardly Art is entitled ‘Coming Up For Air‘. Big, cinematic strings and keys sound like something recorded for a trailer for a Hollywood blockbuster. And with Ryan’s theatrical vocals to match, it definitely gives the impression that this track is a teaser of what’s to come.
The Sacred Trinity Church in Salford will host the Hardly Art launch party on Friday 6th October. The venue was chosen as the last three shows the band have played there all sold out. It’s a part of the world where they are very popular.
The release of the album will be followed up by a full UK-wide tour. So keep your eyes peeled for announcements.
