This London trio has had the same effect this year as Wolf Alice did 2014. They reaffirmed the nation’s faith in rock’n’roll. And now Wolf Alice find themselves nominated for a Grammy. Could this be Yak this time next year? Why not?

Singles ‘Hungry Heart’ and ‘Plastic People’ earnt the band a support slot on Birmingham band Peace’s biggest ever headline tour- a tour which put a spotlight on the threesome almost as much as their rowdy headline gigs with their stage diving, crowd surfing and organ smashing. A ferocious cover version of ‘Cumberland Gap’ helped cement their place in DIY’s Class of 2016 and led to NME calling them ‘the most enthralling new band’.
